The assessment scoping phase is an essential step in the penetration testing process. It identifies the target and calculates the test size. Where its output includes the technical scope, the size of the test in terms of people/hours and skills needed, and a commercial quotation.

1. Requesting a New Assessment

• 1.1 Access Trustline Platform Log in to Trustline platform and navigate to the assessment section to begin.

• 1.2 Initiate New Assessment Request Provide critical details including assessment name, start date, objectives, assets.

• 1.3 Submit Scoping Details After you submit the request, Trustline team will conduct a comprehensive sizing activity to estimate testing hours and determine costs accurately.

• 1.4 Receive Formal Quote Upon completion of sizing, Trustline provides a detailed quote for your assessment.

2. Quote Evaluation

• 2.1 Review the Quote Evaluate estimated hours and costs against your assessment requirements and budget.

  
• 2.2 Accept or Reject Quote

  • Accept: Proceed with the next steps in the penetration testing process.

  

  • Reject: Cancel your assessment.

  

3. Updating Assessment Phase to Setup

• Once you accept the quote, the setup phase will begin.

The duration of the scoping phase typically ranges from 1 to 3 days. This timeframe allows for thorough evaluation and collaboration with Trustline team. However, the exact duration may vary depending on the complexity and size of your assessment.
